Instead of a tree growing in Brooklyn ~ It is sad to report that a Black Man died in Brooklyn ~ today 3/18/2011. I was unfortunate enough to take the pics of a disturbing turn of events when I got home from work. I was able to take the pics before the news that the young black man that was arrested on my block died after being arrested in front of an estimated 20 to 30 people hanging out in front of 272 on a lovely Friday evening. To my amazement he died as a result of police mis-protocol, he had a seizure while handcuffed and laying on a street. While I was taking the pics from my apartment window I heard ” he’s having a seizure” which was loudly yelled out by a bystander/witness, but regardless, the Black Man was instead carried by several officers and slid into a police van. Ironically 1 to 2 minutes after the police van sped away with the arrested Black Man an ambulance entered Wyckoff Street, from 3rd Ave. The arrested Black Man was gone. I was not aware that I would be one of many witnesses to the murder of a young Black Man from Brooklyn. The pics you will see depict the aftermath related to the community response to the DEATH OF ANOTHER BLACK MAN. And the police response to a community in pain.
If something didn’t go WRONG we would not have had such a response from the BRASS .
